Polio Plus and Rotary
 
For more than 30 years, Rotary and our partners have driven the effort to eradicate polio worldwide. Our Polio Plus program was the first initiative to tackle global polio eradication by vaccinating children on a massive scale. Rotary members have contributed over $1.9 billion and countless volunteer hours to protect more than 2.5 billion children in 122 countries around the world from this paralyzing disease. And today the infrastructure that is in place to immunize against polio is being utilized to distribute the Covid 19 vaccination worldwide! 
 
Here is your opportunity to personally help to eradicate polio. As you know the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation matches every dollar donated to End Polio 2 to 1... so your one dollar becomes $3. But we are excited to announce that this year our club will first match your donation (up to $2000) and additionally, a club member has pledged to match another $1000 donated as well. So that math then means that every one dollar donated becomes $6! What a great return on your donation!
 
There are several ways that you can make a donation to End Polio:
  • If you would like to write a cheque or make a cash donation I will be happy to make arrangements to drop by and collect. 
  • You can etransfer to foundation@rotarystratford.com. Please indicate that the transfer is to End Polio.
  • You can donate directly online by clicking here: https://www.endpolio.org/donate. This will take you directly to the RI website.
You will receive a tax receipt for your generous donation.
