Sleeping Children Around the World

Sleeping Children Around the World leads a 100% charitable global community of volunteers & partners who have transformed the lives of over 1.5 million children in developing countries by providing bedkits for a good night’s sleep.
Sleeping Children Around the World distributes bedkits to children in a ratio of 50% girls and 50% boys, who are aged 6 to 12, and are from any culture and any religion. Every child should be able to get a good night's sleep. Each $35 donation provides a bedkit . The contents of a bedkit vary from country to country, but always contain bedding and a mosquito net, clothing and school supplies.
Distributions have taken place in India, Kenya, Philippines, Uganda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, Honduras and Bangladesh.
Sue Orr, a local resident of Stratford, has taken a lead role on distributions over the past several years and was most recently to the Philippines to help with a distribution. Our club was pleased to present Sue with a Paul Harris award for her service above self. We donated $1000 to SCAW.
Rotarian Charlene Gordon participated in a bed kit distribution for two weeks in Bangladesh in 2012.
